I just started up my 88' 300 fourtrax (new to me was left at the place we just bought) started plowing and it just shut off so I tried restarting. Turns over but won't start. Has fuel and oil was low I filled it. Still nothing. Please help.

If so then the solenoid is bad. Or measure the voltage at the starter with the start button engaged. Should read battery voltage.If you don't hear any clicking or cranking sounds when attempting to start the engine, it indicates a lack of power reaching the starter. Bump starting may work once or twice after the battery gets too weak to turn the starter but still has enough to juice to run the electronics. Eventually it gets to where it won't even power the electronics so it wont bump start.Start the motor, rev it, using a gloved hand, (not necessary, but if it backfires you will be glad!) close/choke the carb intake until it almost dies, open it allow to stabilize, repeat.
