Now, however, I've come across two more while pulsing and neither have landing pads. Just blown up, red icon, and one or two pirate ships. Not all of them can be landed on and explored. Some have destroyable frigates to loot and otherwise just fly around. I've discovered three of these so far.

One player can simply enjoy building structures like a sculptor, another might enjoy raiding derelict freighters in space all the time, treating nms like an endless Dead Space of sorts, the range of stuff is wide, and the universe huge, it gets much more engaging imo once you've figured out your finite place in the infinite space.

Go to the space station of the star system and talk to the scrap dealer there. The scrap dealer will provide players with the coordinates of the Derelict Freighter by giving them an Emergency Broadcast Receiver. There is also a wrecked freighter that spawns as a random encounter, HG is fixing the instance where other random things spawn when using the detector you've bought but if you play regular 2.60 this is not fixed yet.
