Hi everyone, I'm planning on building a few more MonoTubs and have question about coffee filters. I plan to use 2" soffit vents filled with polyfil and then put the coffee filter over the end securing the polyfil. On 8/14 I layered my fully colonized grain bags of b+ and golden teacher with coco/vermiculite substrate into my monotubs. I taped off the 2 holes on each side and the holes on the ends to allow the mycelium to colonize the substrate. This morning I noticed that both of the monotubs have a smell similar to alcohol.

We did three 18 gallon (72 qt.) monotubs and one 10 gallon (40 qt.) monotub. We hit two of the 18 gallon monotubs just right and did 2,094 and 1,921 wet grams. Depends on lots of different factors. Plus if you just do a few shoeboxes instead of one mono, then you'll get about the same yield.The concern is that if pinning doesn't start soon, then contams would be more likely to gain a foothold.
