So I bought a used 2016 F150 XLT 5.0 4x4. About 94k on it. Drove it on a 1400 round trip to PA and noticed a little RPM "flutter" at low speed just 100-200rpm when 5th-6th gear at 1000-1700rpm. Then I noticed the intermittent "rumble strip" feeling on the freeway. Put the transmission in gear. Step on the gas pedal. Watch the tachometer, what ever rpm the engine stays at is the stall speed. It is basicly when the torque converter "hooks up" ie absorbs the power and will hold the engine there. With a low stall that means it will read a lower rpm, than say a high stall converter.It's generally accepted that a full drain should be done around every 30K gained miles on the odometer for best results. At 185k miles I wouldn't even entertain a torque converter drain. I would suggest a pan drop w/ filter change every 7K miles until she dies. Same code i got in my 2016. Unfortunately from what I've heard there was a known issue with some of the transmission valve bodies. I ended up first having the valve body replaced. Then the torque converter because the valve body damaged the converter. Then of course since they had to pull the trans they went through it checking seals and such.
