It is now back in the shop and having the ECU replaced broken pin. Just at 88,000 Miles the Ecu they say is under warranty.

Snipesy. Grounding issue or some other power issue. Potentially failed alternator. The tachometer signal is from the crankshaft position sensor which is read by the ECM. It then forwards this onto CAN for the instrument cluster…. It’s not the sensor. Things like injection events are determined by this sensor.

Some diesel fuel additives have compounds to control injector deposits. You could have some kind of deposit issue with the fuel you’re using. I’d consider using something before a 3rd injector needs to be replaced.
