Although there isn't a re-issue date anywhere, the American Flag and star on the spine suggest thats it's from the 2007 American moves to Sony re-issue campaign.

The original stereo mix has some balance issues regarding the volume of the instruments relative to the voices, plus the awkward panning. The remix retains most of the poor panning decisions and adds unnecessary reverb.I have the Deluxe Edition, and I've listened to the mono mix once. The stereo mix is not exactly hi-fi, but the songs benefit from the (minimal) stereo separation, imho. The mono mix is a muddy wall of sound. I did a study on the pressings of Close to the Edge last year.* Here's my preferences: 1) Atlantic K50012 UK A1 B1 true first press (very rare) on substantially heavier vinyl. It has more clarity and punch than I ever expected. 2) MFSL mastered by Stan Ricker--Awesome black backgrounds and clean audio.
