I was diagnosed with PTSD while deployed on active duty. Upon retiring in 2008 with 20+ years in the military, I received SC for PTSD at 10%. In 2009 my SC for PTSD was raised to 70%. Since 2009 I have been seeing a private psychiatrist. In 2011, I asked him to write a letter of my diagnosis and treatment on my behalf.VA grants service connection when the claim file shows three things: 1. Current diagnosis of a disability. 2. Record of an event that happened during military service that could have resulted in the disability. 3. An opinion that the current disability is related to military service, also called a “nexus opinion.”.First, you should recognize that a VA ACE exam is a C&P exam. After performing the examination, VES sent the results to VA within 3 days or less. Once received by VA, it would be up to them. I have had two experiences, one last year and one this year. Last year, the examination process was slower, but the VA decision was quicker. This year, the process was lightning fast, but the VA decision has taken longer.
