Team 1894 # 120. The Glenfield 30A is/was the cheaper version of the Marlin 336. Then Marlin discontinued the Glenfield line. They still made the guns, but now called the Marlins. So a "Marlin 30A" is just a newer "Glenfield 30A", which is the no-frills version of a Marlin 336. Same guns, same internals, just not as pretty.

Marlin has a ramp front sight, the Glenfield uses a front sight dovetailed into the barrel. The Marlins have a little nicer rear sight. Most of the Marlin 336s have a barrel band type forearm, the Glenfields use the end cap type forearm. Marlin has a gold trigger.

Hi everyone, I recently installed a Williams receiver peep on my recently refinished glenfield 30a. After installing the peep sight and included front finer optic sight, I hit the range. Upon shooting with the peep sight, I realized that I’m about a foot high at 50 yards even with the elevation adjustment on the peep as far as it will go.
