Joined Jan 2006. 5,275 Posts. Da can't be beat for Customer support.. The 3w is a lot heavier.. 6.5 lbs or so.. The DA is lighter. 3W has WAY more torque , higher compression, and low end grunt than the DA.. The 3w 110 CS will out perform a DA120. 3w 110 classic is on par with the DA 120. The 3W runs a bit smoother. Over weight loss of 8.6 percent of fus and tail group. 2277 gms down to 2081 gms. This includes the weight of two hitec Maga servos and 2 futaba 3010 servos in situ. I still have to fine sand the fus and tail group yet so may represent more gms lost. I estimate that 60 % of that loss is behind the CG area.With the 16IZ the most downward angle you can have on the antennae is 45deg, even with the "swing out" handle setup deployed, so as not to hit the antennae when setting it down. It also seems much more fragile than the std antennae on the SZ series radios. It does tuck in nice and close when you "retract" it.

On the rolls of ultracoat, it has a flyer that tells you what temp certain things happen. IIRC, 220 is when the adhesive activates, and max shrinkage is 350. Actually your best bet is to use monokote to trim over ultrtacote. Windex doesnt activate the adhesive on ultracote but does so very well on monokote.

Re: Servos and exensions twisted or straight? Twisting the cables is a trick to reduce outside interference and prevent cross-talk between cables. When I soldered extensions onto my 7955's, I used the flat ribbon cable. My DL-55 passed its ground range check, but on 72mhz, PPM, I would get an intermittent radio hit.

Sounds like the Skywing has 8% less wing area and maybe about 0.5 to 1lb lighter. The 4.2 is a 69cc engine to my knowlege. Here is my take. It was spinning a 26 inch prop to my recolection at low RPM's. I wouldnt use the engine for a 3D / IMAC machine as it will be underpowered even if you put it in a 50cc airframe. In a 50cc airframe expect it to be redic nose heavy.CLICK HERE for more information.
