Credit/no credit doesn’t affect your GPA. Some graduate schools don’t like seeing “credit” rather than a grade, however, most are actually pretty understanding. It depends on the school. If you have a 4.0 and 4 B’s this semester, it might be good to opt for credit/no credit for one or two classes just to reduce the damage to your GPA.

A lot my students find they can shave a semester and a few thousand dollars off their education bills by taking these CLEP tests for basic credits (i.e. core/free electives).Clep the basics like History 1 and 2 and Government or take that stuff over the summer at the CC. Do your real classes like Physics 1 and 2 and Calculus 1 and 2 at the CC. The other advantage to transferring is that your graduating GPA will be based solely on your UTSA course work. Get the best grades you can at the CC first though.
