Along with the sheds and outhouses you can search train cars this is where Ive found them alot also you can find them on the zombies in the industrial areas though this is pretty rare. They appear in the loot economy once you no longer need them. After 1-10 minutes, loot may respawn in that building in empty spots if a player is within 150m of the building when the timer goes off.
