Older OBS to LS wire harness setup. I have. A 1994 c1500 w/t that had the old 4.3 in it. I have the 5.3 dropped I with my 4L60 behind it. The guy from LT1 swap.com already did the pcm reprogrammig. Now for the harness !! I have trimmed it down like he stated in the lt1swap.com website.

Find a 5.3L using the same operating system and swap the engine segments. I did that when my buddy put a 6.0L in his truck. It already had an 0411 I had tuned. I swapped the tune from a 5.7L/4L60E to a 6.0L/4L80E. Personally I would go bigger than a 5.3L in truck but that is me.

My harness is a modified stock LS harness, and it is stand alone. I'm still figuring out how to get my speedometer to work.

To swap in the nv4500 you need the transfer case that was hooked to it. The one in your truck has a different input spline size. Going 6L look for a k2500 in the yards that was hooked to a 6.0 for the nv4500. For an LQ9 I think you are looking for Escalade or Denali donars.A crank sleeve adapter may be used here to make up the difference. Picked this truck up cheap as dirt and immediately had a plan for it: All aluminum 4th gen (lh6) 5.3 motor 9.8 to 1 compression with flat tops and 799 heads. Paid 490 out the door at local scrap yard. If you are using a 4l60 with your LS engine and the vehicle you are working on had a 4l60 then keep the factory transmission pins and swap them into the LS harness. If you are using a 4l80 then use the transmission pigtail harness you have (assumedly a 6.0/4l80 takeout). TL;DR You're wanting to 6.0 LSx swap an OBS suburban for towing up to 8,000 lbs.
