If you just wait for the Khajiit merchant who is tied to the invisible chest (its their stock) to be outside Dawnstar then you just clear out the chest, save your game then run up to the merchant and kill them and reload. This chest belongs to the Hajit caravans outside Of Marchwart. Travel east from the gates of the city, passing stables, farms and left hand mines, all the way to the bridge.
