The factory fuel filter, was installed level horizontally at a height that was slightly higher than the inlet of the carb. It also had a hard-line with a loop in it, between the filter and the carb. I own a 93 YJ and a 99TJ, YJ's have a regulator on at the fuel rail with the return going back to the tank and TJ's have a single feed line with all regulation in the tank as part of the sending unit.

Your fuel filter should have two ports on one side of it; one goes to the carb and the other to the vent on the gas tank. This lets the psi above the recommended 4psi (I think) run back into the gas tank so that line is not really a vent but a return line from the fuel filter.Remove your gas cap. Remove your fuel return line at the filter. Remove your vent hose at the charcoal canister. Now you have two options: 1. Blow into each of the lines removed above and pay attention to the pressure. Heated them with a heat gun to bend them to shape and install the new Dorman quick disconnects. The pressure line has a 5/16" quick disconnect and the return is an odd 3/8" quick disconnect that steps down to a 5/16" line.
