The action slide on the Ithaca Model 51 has been a real problem for owners. The used replacement slide I purchased is exactly what I needed - it reassembled perfectly and the gun functions correctly. I also purchased a new action spring which should assist in the slide's performance and longevity. The guys at the gun shop said that there were two ejector rods that were broken inside the gun and that it would be pretty much worthless because of the problem. They said that these ejector rods were a major problem on the 51's and that they stopped making them because of this and that shops stopped buying back used ones because of the problem.
