Imagining a dwarf horizon walker with a dwarven thrower <3 and dueling. Of course, you'll never get a dwarven thrower. You aren’t going to hit super hard as a Ranger compared to other front line martials. You’ll eventually have access to Haste and Misty Step, so your primary go-to is gonna be mobility and quick attacks.

The subclass is great for exploration and damage builds but it’s better to avoid damage then trying to tank. Horizon Walkers with sword and board and the duelling fighting style are pretty solid. Horizon Walkers want to be using their bonus action every turn, meaning they make pretty good S&B or STRangers, fine archers (though they're better in melee) and pisspoor dual-wielders.
