Use the clips to put the new struts in place at the mounting posts. Carefully let go of the lift gate, it should hold up now. Test to make sure it closes properly, if not, the struts ... Turn the dash switch off. Turn the key off. Manually open the door fully and then close the door fully and make sure the rear latch powers up and pulls the door closed. Then turn on the key and turn on the dash switch and see if the door will work. Just tried this procedure, with no change.
