I used it as my main vehicle for everything right down to it's max depth limit, for everything else I used Cyclops and Seaglide. I basically only ever used the Prawn for going inside the lava castle, and for mining obviously.
Personally, I enjoyed using the seamoth more. The agility and size just made it way more fun to use than the seatruck. If anything it should have come back with the ability to carry a prawn suit for those deeper depths. Or hell, just make it possible to upgrade it to much lower depths too, so we're not just stuck with prawn suit forever.
