There is no absolute best weapon as they all have different upsides and downsides. That said, I'd say the best weapons are Halberd, Greataxe, Claymore (not in any particular order). Greataxe does the best damage for sure, it has a disgusting combo involving its special attack, but it has one big downside, it doesn't do very wide attacks.
