I do quite a bit of hunting/cooking in DayZ, and here's what I've noticed with the current version: If the cooking pot and cooked meat is stored in your backpack, it should not significantly add to your overall temperature. Eating hot food seems to have a small warming effect after you eat it for a short amount of time, which makes sense.
