Start by removing the grid-covered elbow vent beneath the exposed part of the door latch. Rotate the elbow vent 180 degrees so the elbow faces upward instead of down, and push it back into place. Searched and never found a solution to open door from inside the door panel. So I took a hammer and long bar and shattered the mechanism and was able to find a lever that opened the door. $95.00 and 2 hrs later door is functioning again. Be careful and make sure the rod end doesn't contact the truck door outer skin.
