2000 Vulcan 800 Carburetor issue. When I bought it, it ran long enough to test ride and once around the neighborhood. The bike flooded out and when I took the air filter cover off it was full of fuel. Decided I should clean out the carb and noticed it was full of sediment and the air cut valve could be seen through.5.0. This is a great starter bike for any average height man. This is a smooth looking, and riding bike. I have been riding my 2003 Drifter since December 2004. It had only 600 miles on it. It has been a solid bike to learn on because it has a low seat height, wide tires, and is very comfortable.Start motorcycle and let sit and idle. 2. Grab one of the coolant hoses and monitor its temperature. 3. When it starts to get hot, it should also get harder to squeeze. 4. When bike seems to be up to temperature, shut off. 5. Could be out of adjustment, dirty, no good, etc. Give it a looksee. Post back with findings.

From what I have read and experienced first hand, I do not believe that the 900 has more or worse stator issues than other bikes. I think the biggest issue is that most folks don't realize that the stator is only rated for 70 watts of additional load above stock.

It has an aftermarket exhaust system and i have no idea if it was properly jetted or not to match the exhaust but my father has had this bike for a couple years now and has never had a problem till now.
