Decided to go with a slotted pad scissor jack kit from a junked Mazda 3 hatchback with a patching kit for a tire puncture back up. Jacked up my Lusso on the above red marks shown above and all worked fine. The jack and kit all fit in the jack location spot on the passenger side in the trunk. Feel a bit batter now with longer trips planned.

And I suggest that you should not lift one side of the car too high or you risk cracking the windshield. At least I've read it on our local forum.

I did some more thorough searching, this time more sharply motivated to find the correct information given my previous mistake, and found an upload of the 2004 Mazda 6 Workshop Manual.The 2005 model is, I understand, very similar to the 2004 model, so the information inside should be just as applicable.
