On a 4150 i flip the bowl upside down and use a 7/16 drill bit to set the float. It is almost always dead on, and always happy enough to start and run to break an engine in. On the primary I can insert a 5/16 inch bit under the outside end of the bowl before the end curve. On the secondary I can insert a 3/8 inch bit.
